Devanāgarī
स भ्रामयामास दृशं रजन्यां भ्रातॄन् स तप्तस्तिमिरे विचिन्वन्।
कङ्कालसाराणि ददर्श तानि शवानि तेषां करुणानि भूमौ॥
Anvaya
सः [अहं] रजन्यां दृशं भ्रामयामास। तिमिरे भ्रातृन् विचिन्वन् तप्तः सः [अहं] भूमौ तेषां कङ्कालसाराणि, करुणानि शवानि ददर्श।
Meaning
सः [अहं] - saḥ - that (I); रजन्यां - rajanyāṁ - in the night; दृशं - dṛśaṁ - glance; भ्रामयामास - bhrāmayāmāsa - I cast about; तिमिरे - timire - in the shadows; भ्रातृन् - bhrātṛn - my brothers; विचिन्वन् - vicinvan - searching; तप्तः - taptaḥ - aggrieved; सः [अहं] - saḥ - that (I); भूमौ - bhūmau - on the ground; तेषां - teṣāṁ - their; कङ्कालसाराणि - kaṅkālasārāṇi - reduced to skeletons; करुणानि - karuṇāni - pitiable; शवानि - śavāni - corpses; ददर्श - dadarśa - I saw;
Sanskrit
अहं परितः दृष्टिक्षेपम् अकरवम्। रात्र्याः अन्धकारे भ्रातृन् अन्विष्यन् सन्तप्तः अहं तेषां कङ्कालमात्रावशिष्टानि, दयनीयानि शवानि भूमौ अपश्यम्।
English Interpretation
I cast my glance about in the night, grieved, searching out my brothers in the shadows. Their corpses I saw on the ground, pitiable, reduced to skeletons.

आँखें दौड़ी अंधकार में दूर-दूर तक,
अपने भाई और बन्धुओं को तलाशती,
किन्तु मिले कंकालशेष अनेक शव
जो दीन-हीन से पड़े हुए पृथ्वी पर॥
