Some Impressions

From the Dignitary's remarks recorded on visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial :

1.       Harnam Kur Madam, USA EMBASSY NEW DELHI on 1 Sep 1971

Vivekananda Memorial is a symbol of national awakening . When we heard about it we thought it was just another temple one of the thousands in India. But we are very happy and proud to see its architecture, its management  & the message it brings to the millions who will visit it. I hope we Indians after seeing it will live upto the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. We congratulate the committee for the fine job they have done.

2.       Sri H L Bhagat, UNION MINISTER OF STATE FOR WORKS & HOUSING NEW DELHI on 4 Sep 1976

It was very inspiring to visit Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial along with my wife.  This really gives a lot of structural strength. The place is very well kept, neat, clean & tidy. The people connected with the same, officers & others , were warm, intelligent & helpful. It was gratifying to know that almost 2000 people visit on an average  to this place. May the height given by Swami Vivekananda continue to guide the people forever.

3.       High Commissioner  of Bangala Desh on 5 Sep 1974

I had the honour & priviledge to visit the memorial this morning. It has been an exciting & rewarding experience for me. The philosophy & teachings of the great son of India, I have no doubt, provide continuous inspirations to the people of India for the realisation of all their great spiritual, moral & ethical values which man, through centuries, has cherished.

4.       Chief Justice of Kerala Sri V K Bali on 5 Sep 2006

Such a peace of mind when in concentration room may not be anywhere else, but why the teachings of Swami Vivekananda are not known by we Indians?  If perhaps we all learn and follow Swamiji of only 20 % of what he taught, then the blessing and peace will be in every family.

5.       SUPERINTENDENT OF ARCHEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA on 7 Sep 1971

It is nothing short of a divine blessings to be given an opportunity for an early morning visit to this great monument of spiritual India to one of its most illustrious sons whose fame as symbolised by the meeting of the three oceans here-- has synthesized all known approaches to the universal principal man call - God.  I am sure that every Indian will have the same feeling of love, reverence and human compassion while he has the same tact to treat on this historic rock--- and it's no less a historic monument.
