Devanāgarī

सुखं मृदावास्तरणे शयानं सुखानि भोगान्वसु चिन्तयन्तम्।
पस्पर्श भीमेन करेण वक्षः प्रत्यक्षमक्ष्णोश्च बभूव काली॥४॥

Anvaya

मृदौ आस्तरणे सुखं शयानम्, सुखानि, भोगान् वसु चिन्तयन्तं [मां] काली भीमेन करेण पस्पर्श। [सा मम ] वक्षः [पस्पर्श] अक्ष्णोः च प्रत्यक्षं बभूव।

Meaning

मृदौ mṛdau - on a soft; आस्तरणे āstaraṇe - couch; सुखं sukhaṁ - at ease; शयानम् śayānam - lying; सुखानि. - sukhāni - of pleasures; भोगान् bhogān - enjoyments; वसु vasu - (and) wealth; चिन्तयन्तं cintayantaṁ - (and) dreaming; [मां] काली [māṁ] kālī - Kaalii; भीमेन bhīmena - a dreadful; करेण kareṇa - hand; पस्पर्श pasparśa - I felt; [सा मम ] वक्षः [पस्पर्श] - [sā mama ] vakṣaḥ [pasparśa] - (She touched my) chest; अक्ष्णोः च akṣṇoḥ ca - and to my eyes; प्रत्यक्षं pratyakṣaṁ - visible; बभूव babhūva - grew (became);

Sanskrit

सुकोमल-शय्यायां शयानः अहं सुख-भोग-वैभव-विषये अचिन्तयम्। तदा काली साक्षात् आविर्भूय मम वक्षः भीमहस्तेन अस्पृशत्।

English Interpretation

Lying at ease on a soft couch and dreaming of pleasures, enjoyments and wealth, I felt on my chest the touch of a dreadful hand and to my eyes grew visible the shape of Kali.

Hindi

सुख से सोया था मैं कोमल शैया पर,
सुख-सुविधा,धन के बारे में सोच रहा था,
भीषण हाथ लगा मेरे ऊपर जैसे ही
भारत माँ थी प्रगट हुई चण्डी बनकर॥
