Values of Life

|| योग: कर्मसु कौशलम् ||
Mission of life has been understood. Now the life is more strenuous. Now on each step you have to take care. The path is like walking on razor's edge. Kshurasya dhara nishita duratyaya..... of Kathopanishad has to be always kept in mind. The thought behind each action, the way the action is done, its after effect all have to be kept in mind. Taking all these aspects in mind, Eknathji says that for the fulfillment of mission of life, values have to be looked for. Which values of life are to be cultivated has to be thought about with great discretion. He therefore says :
When the destination of human life is once fixed and the mission of this life decided, the scheme for the fulfillment of the mission comes into existence. If there is no destination, problems do not arise; but when the destination is determined, even when a person is confronted by hundreds of difficulties and thousands of problems, he faces them with great courage even at the risk of his life.
Swami Vivekananda very beautifully says about the difficulties, mistakes that a person commits : It is thought which is the propelling force in us. Fill the mind with the highest thoughts, hear them day after day, think them month after month. Never mind failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life, these failures. What would life be without them? It would not be worth having if it were not for struggles. Where would be the poetry of
life? Never mind the struggles, the mistakes. I never heard a cow tell a lie, but it is only a cow — never a  man. So never mind these failures, these little backslidings; hold the ideal a thousand times, and if you fail a thousand times, make the attempt once It is thought which is the propelling force in us. Fill the mind with the highest thoughts, hear them day after day, think them month after month. Never mind failures; they are quite natural, they are the beauty of life, these failures. I never heard a cow tell a lie, but it is only a cow — never a man. So never mind these failures, these little backslidings; hold the ideal a thousand times, and if  you fail a thousand times, make the attempt once more….

Eknathji says : His mission gives him a definite direction and in following it one finds that there are good many things to be rejected rather than to be selected. We know that it is humanly impossible to undertake all things and we are forced to reject many things as they are of no advantage to our mission.
