|| योग: कर्मसु कौशलम् ||
A Karyakarta or a Sadhaka knows what is right and what is wrong on this path and yet he finds it difficult to follow. That is what Eknathji used to say that along with knowledge comes the conscience and because the conscience is there but the mind is still not ready, it faces struggles. Eknathji says, "Thus, the struggle is greater. Again a person knows his duties well, he struggles strenuously for the fulfillment of his duties, but the temptations intervene. The organs both of sense and activity do not co-operate. The Gita has aptly described the situation in the verse:
अथ केन प्रयुक्तोऽयं पापं चरति पूरुषः ।
अनिच्छन्नपि वार्ष्णेय बलादिव नियोजितः ॥ ३६ ॥
Atha kena prayuktoyam papam charati purusha
Anichchannapi Varshneya baladiva niyojitah BG -III.36
"Oh son of Vrishnis, propelled by whom does the man perform a sin, even though reluctant, but commanded, as if, by force".
"I have done this", or "This was done because of me" or "This continues because I am striving for it." Such a feeling grows and it is harmful for the full growth of the individual. As a matter of fact here instead of the gross interest of the body-mind, it has been shifted to the subtle interest of the ego". We should go for what is pleasing but we should do what we are supposed to do even if it is very difficult. Because if a Karyakarta opts for what is easy or pleasing then ultimately it ends up in loss of work, the purpose of life. So a Karykarta should go for that what enhances the work, howsoever difficult it may appear in the beginning. Eknathji says, " ...What appears to be pleasure today results in pain tomorrow, that is the law of life.
.....यत्तदग्रेऽमृतोपमम् । परिणामे विपमिव ।। .........
Yattadagremrutopamam Pariname Vishamiv.. Bhagavadgita XVIII.38
Thus Eknathji explains through Gita that though it is difficult, not pleasant yet the Karyakarta should stick to the practice of Sadhanbhav- ie I am the instrument in the hands of the Divine. I will do whatever God commands me. How would God tell us what he wants us to do? Our organization has come into being to do the work of Ishwara. Thus organizational norms, decisions, way of work become the commands of Divine for us while working for the people.

The main theme of my life is to take the message of Sanatana Dharma to every home and pave the way for launching, in a big way, the man-making programme preached and envisaged by great seers like Swami Vivekananda. - Mananeeya Eknathji

. . . Are you Strong? Do you feel Strength? — for I know it is Truth alone that gives Strength. Strength is the medicine for the world's disease . . . This is the great fact: "Strength is LIFE; Weakness is Death." | |
