Manifestation of Divinity

Whenever an opportunity arose, the Master would give spiritual instructions to Holy Mother and Lakshmi. One evening he spoke at length to them about the gopis' love for Krishna. At the end of his talk, he said to Lakshmi: "Discuss what you have heard from me with your aunt tonight. You have seen the cows eating grass in the field during the day- time, at night they chew the cud. Similarly, you should go over with your aunt what you have learnt now. Then you will not forget my words."

Many years later, when someone read The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna to Holy Mother, she said: "The Master used to give me such fine instructions. If only I had known how to write, I would have noted down his words.

Swami Nikhilananda wrote: "Sarada Devi did not outwardly practise austerities or observe rituals to the extent Sri Ramakrishna did. Her life was one of quiet prayer and meditation, and she never neglected the performance of her daily duties She appeared to others more like a householder than a recluse or ascetic Yet the ocean of her spiritual experience was as bottomless as his. This shows that she was not just a saint or a mystic, but, like her husband a manifestation of Divinity.

Sri Ramakrishna was fully aware of Sarada Devi's future Referring to her one day, he said to a woman disciple: "She is Saraswati. She has assumed a human body to impart wisdom to men, but she has hidden her celestial beauty lest people, by looking at her, should befoul their minds with sinful thoughts." Both before and after his death, the Master often reminded her of her future role. He gave her detailed instructions about awakening the spiritual power of her future disciples.
