Anushasan : Yama

|| योग: कर्मसु कौशलम् ||

Mananeeya Eknathji insisted on Anushasan which is very important for the Karyakarta of the Organisation. Kendra also insists on 'Yoga way of Life' which leads to know little more about the eight limbs of Patanjal Yoga. In it Yama is the first limb.

Yama defines our interactions with others (Including nature) and, therefore, it is traditionally considered that practice of Yama is the most important. Without the practice of Yama, practice of other limbs of Yoga would not be fruitful. Thus Yama is the 'pre-requisite' fundamental for the practice of Yoga.

Non-violence, truth, non-stealing, brahmacharya and non-aggrandizement constitute Yama.

If the practice of Yama is not done then one cannot progress in Yogaabhyas; moreover even the one who has progressed could also fall, becomes Yogabhrashta and, like Vishwamitra, he would have to start all over again. Yoga is a way of life based on the vision of Oneness and, therefore, our interactions with others – practice of Yama -should be based on Oneness. Thus if we do not understand Ahimsa, Satya, etc in the light of oneness then our practice can go wrong.
